Mountain Pass Whisky: A Journey to Excellence

Recently, Mountain Pass Whisky’s Distiller’s Select Batch 1 earned the title 2024 Canadian Artisan Spirit of the Year!

Crafted with amazing attention to detail, Mountain Pass Whisky – Distiller’s Select Batch 1 is a testament to the artistry and dedication of its makers. Limited to just 1000 bottles, each one undergoes a meticulous aging process in ex-bourbon and fresh oak casks, resulting in a harmonious blend of flavors and complexity that captivates the palate.

At the core of Mountain Pass Whisky lies a commitment to utilizing only the finest Albertan grains. With a mash bill comprising 59.2% 2-row malt, 7% Kananaskis malt, 3.5% chocolate malt, and 30% corn, the whisky encapsulates the essence of the Canadian prairies. Additionally, the majority of these grains are sourced from within a 100-mile radius of the distillery, ensuring freshness and quality that speak to the brand’s dedication to authenticity.

Looking ahead, Mountain Pass Whisky has exciting plans on the horizon. From forthcoming cask-strength releases at 42% ABV to innovative experiments with unique grains like oats, the brand continues to push the boundaries of traditional whisky-making. Additionally, the promise of locally peated expressions adds an intriguing dimension to Mountain Pass Whisky’s already impressive lineup.

As we raise our glasses to toast Mountain Pass Whisky’s triumph, we celebrate not just a single award, but a commitment to excellence that permeates every aspect of the brand’s ethos. Here’s to Mountain Pass Whisky and the promise of many more remarkable spirits to come. Cheers to the journey of excellence!
